We are looking for a World Builder Intern to join us for our Obsidian University Internship Program. Come help us make our next world-class roleplaying game!
Work with Art and Design to develop the world of our next big game. Spend the summer assisting the team in populating the world. The ideal candidate has a flair for assembling captivating environments, focusing on visual storytelling using an established library of assets, and enjoys teamwork but can also take direction and work independently. Work side-by-side with our world-class developers, learn what it takes to create fantastic worlds, and contribute to the next great Obsidian Entertainment title.
Assist in set dressing and beautifying areas
Maintain map/level organization and area optimization efforts
Help validate and optimize assets
Proficiency in Maya or 3ds Max
Proficiency with modern game editors such as Unreal Engine, CryEngine, Source, or equivalent
Understanding of the mechanics of games and the role of well-organized 3D layouts in complementing the experience
Strong communication skills
Experience modeling, unwrapping, and texturing 3D assets for Unreal Engine
Proficiency in Substance Painter
Passion for gaming and the games Obsidian makes
A web portfolio that demonstrates world building

The estimated base pay range for this role is:
$22.00 per hour
