Summary

Environment Artist needed for creating 3D background models for games. Responsibilities include modeling game backgrounds using software like Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and ZBrush. Experience in game development is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have skills in physics-based rendering, level design, pipeline/workflow construction, and experience with tools like Houdini, Substance Designer, and Substance Painter. The position is full-time in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan (near Shinagawa Station), offering a discretionary labor system with a standard 10:00 am start time. Salary is based on experience with a performance incentive system in place. Must have:
  • 3D background modeling experience (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender)

Work duties

  • Creating 3D background models

Eligibility

  • Those who have practical experience in creating background models for games using Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, etc.
  • Those who have practical experience in sculpting using ZBrush etc.
  • Game completion experience for at least one title as an environment artist

For new graduates, there is no need to meet all of the eligibility requirements. 
For those with no experience in the industry, it is not necessary to meet all of the eligibility requirements, but please appeal mainly with your abilities to compensate for this. 

Desirable experiences, etc. (not required)

  • Production experience in physics-based rendering environments
  • Practical experience in level design on a game engine
  • Experience in constructing the pipeline and workflow for background production
  • Experience in background production using procedures such as Houdini and Substance Designer
  • Practical experience of using Substance Painter
  • Experience with dynamics and set-up in background gimmicks
  • Experience in external ordering
