The Technical Program Manager at SIE's Experience Platform Engineering (EPE) team will define roadmaps, gather requirements, build project plans, and provide technical support for telemetry and tooling. This highly cross-functional role requires collaboration with engineering, marketing, commerce, publishers, product managers, and project management teams. Responsibilities include roadmap planning, requirements gathering and analysis, cross-functional collaboration, feature prioritization, stakeholder communication, and utilizing enterprise tooling for data lifecycle workflows impacting millions of gamers. The ideal candidate will have experience with Agile/Waterfall methodologies, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Jira & Confluence. Knowledge of data technologies (Domo, Adobe Analytics, etc.) and AWS/Snowflake is preferred.

About Us: You will join the Experience Platform Engineering (EPE) team, which is part of the Data Strategy, Analytics, and Enablement (DSAE) organization. We are a data-driven, people-centric organization dedicated to assessing the business impact of products and services developed at PlayStation across enterprise platform tools.

EPE operates collaboratively and innovatively, focusing on end-to-end telemetry development, including data collection, specification design, and quality assurance, to enhance customer experiences. We seek an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead initiatives, manage risks on large projects, and drive solutions in a dynamic environment affecting millions of gamers worldwide.

Role Summary: As a Technical Program Manager with a focus on telemetry and tooling, you will define the roadmap, collaborate with colleagues to capture requirements, build project plans, and provide technical support. This role is highly cross-functional, requiring close collaboration with engineering, marketing, commerce, publishers, product managers and project management teams to act as a technical liaison. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end data lifecycle workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roadmap Planning: Develop and maintain a detailed data lifecycle roadmap that outlines the development and release of data assets, enhancements, and tooling features, prioritizing projects based on business impact, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with EPE team members, engineers, and project management teams to comprehend user journey analytics and identify workflow pain points. Translate these insights into actionable feature requirements and deliverables.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, design, quality assurance, project management, and data delivery teams to ensure data requirements are developed, tested, and launched as planned. Maintain open communication between teams to identify dependencies for capacity planning and address potential obstacles early on.
  • Feature Prioritization: Balance teams’ needs with business goals and technical constraints, making data-driven decisions on which features to prioritize and how to maximize impact. Monitor status of key deliverables. Develop reporting and milestone tracking and documentation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Clearly and regularly communicate goals, progress, and release plans to internal stakeholders, providing visibility into road blocks, performance and soliciting feedback for future improvements.
  • Enterprise Tooling: Facilitate and use tools for project deliverables and customer engagement analytics that impact and inform enterprise-wide decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of SDLC processes such as Agile, Waterfall, and similar development methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, optimally prioritize tasks, and manage numerous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the ability to effectively engage and interact with diverse customers, partners, and team members at different levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate conflicts and build relationships in multi-functional and multicultural environments
  • Proactive problem-solving skills in sophisticated and ambiguous situations
  • Ability to understand and develop team skills as project requirements evolve.
  • Experience using Jira & Confluence.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of data and technologies including Domo, Adobe Analytics, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Ab Initio, etc.
  • Understanding of AWS fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehouse fundamentals.
  •  Curiosity about gaming, digital entertainment, or consumer electronics is a plus.
  •  Japanese language skills are not required, but it can be helpful.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$111,700 - $167,500 USD
