Job Description

SageCor Solutions seeks a Software Engineer 1 to contribute to a team implementing a Zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) solution within an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for complex High-Performance Computing Systems. Responsibilities encompass inventory schema design, interface implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will possess experience with Linux CLI, Python development in Linux, IaC principles and tools (Ansible), SQL technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB), REST APIs, CI/CD principles and tools (GitLab CI), containerization (Podman or Docker), and Git.

Must have:

Linux CLI experience
Python development in Linux
IaC & Ansible
SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)
REST API design & implementation
CI/CD & GitLab CI
Containerization (Podman/Docker)
Git

Good to have:

Messaging Frameworks (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ)
Metrics visualization (Grafana, Kibana)
Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Pytest testing framework

Description

Serving Maryland and the Greater Washington D.C. area, SageCor Solutions (SageCor) is a growing company bringing complete engineering services and true full lifecycle System Engineering services to areas requiring (or desiring) nationally-recognized expertise in high performance computing, large data analytics and cutting edge information technologies.

Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required.

SWE-1 Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

Four (4) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Position Description:

The Software Engineer shall be part of a team responsible for implementing a Zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) solution as part of an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for complex High Performance Computing Systems. Development activities include inventory schema design, interface implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

Position Required Skills:

Experience using the Linux CLI
Experience developing with Python in a Linux environment
Experience with IaC principles and automation tools including Ansible
Experience with SQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB
Experience with designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs
Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
Experience with containerization technologies such as Podman or Docker
Experience with Git Source Control System

Position Desired Skills:

Experience with Messaging Frameworks such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, and RabbitMQ
Experience with tools used for metrics visualization such as Grafana and Kibana
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Experience with Pytest testing framework
