Job Description

The Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) Internship at Google in China (2025) is a 10-12 week program aimed at increasing the number of underrepresented computer scientists and software developers. The program includes a software project, skills-based training, and professional development. It's open to Bachelor's students in Computer Science or related fields with experience in Java, Python, C, C++, or other programming languages. Students should be able to showcase tech projects and ideally participate in relevant extracurricular activities. Specific responsibilities vary by project area, but all interns will contribute to Google's engineering efforts, working on diverse projects across different Google products and services. Google seeks to bridge the gap between academic study and professional experience, fostering the next generation of tech leaders.

Must have:

Bachelor's in CS/ECE

Minimum qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Experience in Java, Python, C, C++, or other programming language.

Preferred qualifications:

Ability to showcase tech projects and participate in computer science-related extracurricular activities.
Ability to complete an internship program of 10-12 weeks.
