Job Responsibilities
- As a Lead Tech developer with strong Java, Springboot, Microservices and containerisation experience, you will be both developing codes as well as reviewing and mentoring the tasks done by the developers in the project/ platform
- Design and develop Restful APIs in OPENAPI (Swagger) standards to support digital experiences using open source and cloud technology
- Collaborate with architects, designers, analysts, product specialists, and other software engineers at both component and end to end levels
- Resolves complex and strategic issues using advanced technical knowledge, across wider industry and/or specific sectors, and develops bespoke or leading edge, technically complex solutions (e.g., relating to new, un-tested technology and/or large-scale impact of products)
- Executes and contributes to the development of the ambitious and compelling technical roadmap to meet the needs of the business, engineering team, and partner teams
- Writes, tests and reviews code, refining and rewriting as necessary independently and communicates to engineering professionals and colleagues involved in the project

- Solves complex and escalated aspects of a project, performing coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting when necessary
- Researches, designs and writes new software and performs deep dive data analysis, to identify issues and implement ways to improve working processes within the area of software engineering responsibility, such as avoiding and reducing technical debt
- Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in software engineering
- In depth knowledge of Java and evidence of exposure to other languages, extensions and paradigms
- Working Knowledge on Spring Boot Framework
- Experience in designing and developing APIs using OpenAPI and Swagger
- Understanding of Linux as a runtime environment
- Bash scripting
- Git for source control
- Knowledge of Docker, Consul, Prometheus and why we’d want to use them.
- Knowledge of MySQL – data stores in general, when to use RDBMS over NOSQL etc.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes concepts, components, and APIs..
- Strong Knowledge and experience in API Gateway solutions like Apigee and APISIX in comprehensive topics such as API Management, security, rate limiting, identity & consent management and traffic management
- Jira, Agile Development using Scrum
- CI and high-level CD experience is also desired
- Proficiency with public and private cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and OpenStack and in virtualization
