Summary

As a Software QA Engineer at Barracuda, you'll work on cutting-edge firewall products (appliance and cloud-based). Our Network Security team is at the forefront of protecting our customers’ network infrastructure, whether their resources reside in the cloud, data centers, or endpoint devices. We are a passionate team of engineers building the next generation of security solutions to combat threats such as malware, ransomware, and hackers. We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Manual Test Engineer with experience in networking to join our cross-functional Agile team.

As a Software QA Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge appliance-based and cloud-based firewall products. You will collaborate closely with product managers and developers to design, develop, test, and deliver innovative features in a continuous delivery model. 
 
   
Tech Stack: 
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (Firewalls, Network Protocols, Routing, etc.) with a strong desire to deepen this knowledge and explore further on your own 
  • Basic knowledge of any Linux OS 
  • Basic knowledge of any scripting or programming languages is a plus  
 What You’ll Be Working On:
  • Analyze business and functional requirements in collaboration with development and product management (Three Amigos) to develop test strategies, test plans, and test scenarios. 
  • Extend and maintain test infrastructure both on-premise and in the cloud. 
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases to ensure product quality (functional, regression, end-to-end tests, etc.). 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and the delivery of high-quality features to our customers. 
  • Report and manage defects in JIRA and actively participate in Agile/Scrum activities. 
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified defects and provide detailed documentation.  
What You Bring to the Role: 
  • Higher technical school graduate with a focus on computer science, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). 
  • Self-motivated, quick learner with excellent analytical skills and an ability to think outside the box. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team and across global teams. 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proven expertise in networking is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with the architecture and networking fundamentals of cloud service setups in major public clouds (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is advantageous. 
  • Familiarity with Docker or virtualization solutions is a plus. 
  • Experience in software testing or agile software development is a plus.
