Job Description

As a Software Engineer for Google Assistant, you'll contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies that impact billions of users. You'll design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions, working on projects critical to Google's needs. Responsibilities include writing code, participating in design reviews, reviewing code from peers, contributing to documentation, and resolving system issues. You'll need to be versatile, display leadership, and enthusiastically tackle new challenges across the full-stack. The role involves managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while collaborating with peers and stakeholders to choose appropriate technologies. Google seeks engineers who can work effectively across the full stack and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
1 year software development experience (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
Code writing, design reviews, debugging
Contribute to documentation

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
