Job Description

As a Silicon Validation Engineer at Google, you'll be part of a team developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. Responsibilities include developing and executing test procedures to validate new silicon functionality, debugging failures with cross-functional teams (silicon, boards, software, manufacturing), and providing regular updates on silicon health to relevant teams. This role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 5+ years of experience with test and debug infrastructure and automation using scripting languages like Perl, Python, or Tcl. Experience with silicon validation frameworks is crucial. You will contribute to the innovation behind products used by millions, shaping the next generation of hardware experiences.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 5+ years experience in test/debug infrastructure
  • Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, Tcl)
  • Silicon Validation framework experience
  • Develop and execute test procedures
  • Debug failures with cross-functional teams
Good to have:
  • Master's degree
  • Production Verification Testing experience
  • Power/performance measurement of SoCs
  • High/low-speed IO knowledge (PCIe, USB, UFS, UART, etc.)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with test and debug infrastructure or test/lab automation using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Tcl.
  • Experience with Silicon Validation frameworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with tuning and characterization over Production Verification Testing.
  • Experience with power or performance measurement of SoCs.
  • Knowledge on any of the high-speed IOs (PCIe, USB, UFS) and low-speed IOs (UART, SPI, QSPI, I2C, I3C, PWM, GPIO).
