Senior Radar Signal Processing Algorithms Engineer needed for automotive radar development. Must have strong experience in radar systems and signal processing algorithms, extensive knowledge of Matlab/Python, and a drive for innovation.

Senior Radar Signal Processing Algorithms Engineer

Your team

Systems and applications radar algorithms team is a growing team exploring system and algorithm design for future radar sensors, pushing the performance limits in terms of accuracy, range, size, and cost. Creating new signal processing methods, co-designing algorithms with antennas, radar waveform design and working together with software and hardware teams to implement the full sensor prototype are all in our scope. The team is diverse with many nationalities and backgrounds, characterized by an innovative and open culture committed to continuous improvement. There is ongoing internal collaboration with multiple NXP teams in Europe, US and India as well as research collaborations with leading technical universities.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Guide the development of new signal processing algorithms and sensor concepts for automotive radar, in interdisciplinary cooperation with other technical experts,
  • Identify and communicate these new signal processing concepts to product creation teams for enabling differentiators in future products,
  • Support the creation of new automotive radar reference designs, in cooperation with HW and SW experts, supporting the porting, optimization, and integration of the signal processing FW,
  • Providing high quality and timely deliverables (code, documentation, presentation material, demo) as agreed in your project,
  • Keep track of state of the art within automotive radar domain outside NXP, both in academia and industry
  • Contribute actively to NXP’s IP portfolio in automotive radar domain,
  • Propose new (innovation) projects to leverage on and grow NXP’s radar system and algorithm activities,
  • Proposing new projects or working practices to improve the creation, verification and validation of radar algorithms.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have

  • MSc (and PhD) in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering or similar, with focus on Digital Signal Processing and/or embedded software,
  • 5-10 years of working experience in a relevant domain,
  • Strong track record in the innovation and/or development of radar systems and signal processing algorithms,
  • Extensive working knowledge of Matlab / Python,
  • Curiosity and drive for continuous learning on the job,
  • An innovative, think-out-of-the-box mindset and a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, adapting your communication style to engage successfully with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Nice to have: affinity with radar transceiver design, antenna design, SoC architectures, embedded FW.
