Job Description

Your future team:

Assystem, are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Defence client’s dynamic project team. The Projects Business Unit has been set up to establish and maintain a Strategic Infrastructure Plan through to at least 2050 and to deliver the capital works projects that result from the Plan.

Your missions:

The Senior Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting exciting Dockside Rigs and Dock Bottom Village projects, focusing primarily on Mechanical Engineering. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the engineering capability of innovative new systems, guiding them through the design, procurement, manufacturing, commissioning, and operational phases.

The Senior Engineer will be required to:

🔧 Support the delivery of the Dockside Rigs and Dock Bottom Villages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.

🔧 Manage the engineering and technical aspects from project initiation through to handover.

🔧 Ensure design documentation meets all operational requirements and adheres to agreed standards.

🔧 Apply and comply with effective Quality Management Arrangements, in line with the Client's Business Management System and Technical Manual.

🔧 Ensure processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills to be successful:

🌟 Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline, or demonstrable time served.

🌟 Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards registration with the Engineering Council.

🌟 Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of engineering practices in the management of complex design development throughout the project lifecycle.

🌟 Experience in Capital Equipment, Mechanical Handling Systems, Steel and Aluminium Handling and Processing, and Heavy Industry Workshop and Process Lines.

🌟 Relevant experience in the Maritime Defence, Oil/Gas/Subsea, or Nuclear sectors.

🌟 Proven experience in project specification, planning, management, and budgeting for design, construction, and installation processes.

🌟 Familiarity with NEC 4 ECC and PSC contracts (Options A, C & E) and CEMAR (desirable).

🌟 Proficient in engineering office computer applications, Buildings Information Management (BIM), and MS Office Suite.

🌟 Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations.

  • Most work is offsite, working from home or Assystem offices. Occasional visits to Client site in Plymouth
