Job Description

Senior Mainframe Developer needed for an Insurance client. Responsibilities include design and development of mainframe batch support, on-call and weekend release support, incident/outage management, code development for reporting, defects, and enhancements. Requires hands-on experience with JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and mainframe utilities. The role involves driving Kanban, daily standups, and stakeholder coordination. Analytical, problem-solving, and design skills are essential. The ideal candidate will possess 6+ years of mainframe development and support experience.

Must have:

6+ years Mainframe exp (JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM)
COBOL/CICS upgrade experience
Mainframe tools (File Aid, Changeman, Syncsort)
Software design & SDLC knowledge
Analytical & problem-solving skills

Good to have:

Insurance domain experience
Experience with Xpeditor, SyncSort, File Aid, IDCAMS, Control-M, IOF, MQ

For one of our Client in the Insurance Segment, we are searching for a Senior Mainframe Developer.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Design and Development

Mainframe batch support

Resource should be comfortable with On-Call Support and Week-End

Release support.

Incident & Outage management

Develop code for Reporting, Defect & Enhancement

Hands on experience with JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and mainframe utilities are mandatory.

Drive the Kanban, Daily Standup, co-ordination meetings with respective stakeholders.

Analytical, problem solving, creative thinking and design skills

Skills

Must have

6+ years of Mainframe development and support experience with good hands-on JCL, COBOL, DB2 & CICS, VSAM.

Any COBOL or CICS Upgrade experience.

Experience in Mainframe tools & Utilities like File Aid, Changeman, Syncsort etc.

Experience working with software design, software development life cycle, and development methodologies and implementation.

Other Qualifications

Analytical, problem solving, creative thinking and design skills at multiple products.

Ability to communicate in English with application developers, customers, support personnel and management.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
