As the Design Manager your responsibility will be to build, grow, and lead a high performing Design team that delivers an innovative, simple, and differentiated product that our users love, adopt, and can’t live without. The product should unlock efficiencies for our customer service customers while giving them the smarts and tools to drive unprecedented customer intimacy and higher quality experiences. The Design Manger is responsible for managing all aspects of our design and creative output. It's a managerial role, with accountability for design output and success of the design department. Simply put, we, at Helpshift, care a great deal about the experience we provide to the users. Your responsibility is to guide and direct the team to deliver best-in-class experiences for our customers and their users.

About the role:

  • Influencing design-led thinking across the business.
  • Developing strategic design plans with projected timelines and budgets.
  • The ability to be a leader but to also know how to motivate team members
  • Mentor and supervise the design team while challenging and introducing new and innovative methods of design execution.

  • Motivate and influence the artistic team to always strive for excellence in performance.
  • Lead and direct work intake and overall design project assignment process.
  • Manage design processes to make sure timely delivery projects.
  • Interpreting abstract business concepts and client briefs and turning them into creative ideas.
  • Ensure that all of the organization’s creative output/visuals are consistent with the overall brand.
  • Lead multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines.
  • Creating storyboards and mockups for customers and the design team to visualize the completed project.
  • Pitching ideas and the creative vision to the customers.
  • Conducting team training on developments within the design world or new business guidelines

Requirements

About you:

  • Experience: Must have a total of 10 + years of experience of which at least 2 years of leadership experience (Design Manager role) and 3-5 years of experience as a Product / UX / UI designer prior to that. Should have experience in designing mobile apps and web apps for consumers.
  • Creativity: Should have the ability to build unique design solutions which will surprise and delight customers.
  • Evaluate Design Performance : Must track and evaluate feedback, once a design has been finalised and implemented. This often involves filtering through customer surveys and responses ood design wiz.
  • Organization: Should possess the ability to meet overlapping deadlines in a fast- paced working environment without substituting quality or accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Should possess the skills to perceive how his/her role will fit into the strategic objectives of the client and agency, and communicate well at all times with colleagues. They work mostly with product development and marketing teams and other departments, as those teams are most involved with a product’s looks and presentation to customers.to focus groups to create an overall picture of how well the design performed.
  • Confidence: Should be able to manage and lead other designers.
  • Vision: Possess the skills to clearly articulate concepts to customers and team members.
  • Technical Craftsmanship: Should be a very design wiz.
  • Enthusiast: Must be enthusiastic about designing and presenting superb presentations.
  • Passion: Must be passionate about design, color concepts, typography, hierarchy and flow.
  • Professionalism: Must display professionalism and be able to relate well with all levels of agency.
