Summary

As a Senior Character Hair (Grooming) Artist at Techland, you'll create real-time hair and fur assets for characters and creatures. You will collaborate with the Lead Character Artist to develop hair creation pipelines and work with Tech Art on hair rendering techniques. Responsibilities include managing hair assets, seeking improvements, and collaborating with outsourcing partners on hair and fur assets. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional understanding of next-gen workflows for real-time hair & fur, a keen eye for detail, and experience with tools like Fibershop or Maya's Xgen. Proficiency in 3D software (3Ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter/Designer) and excellent communication skills are essential.

Job Description

Your daily tasks:

  • Creating real time hair & fur assets for characters and creatures in games.
  • Coordinating and developing a hair creation pipeline together with the Lead Character Artist.
  • Working closely with Tech Art on developing new shading techniques for hair rendering.
  • Managing hair assets content and looking for improvements.
  • Working with outsourcing on hair & fur related assets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+years of experience in a similar position. 
  • Exceptional understanding of next-gen workflows for real time hair & fur.
  • Good eye for silhouette and form of hairs.
  • Knowledge of tools for hair creation like Fibershop or Maya’s Xgen.
  • Knowledge in 3D software: 3Ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
