Programmer Modding Quality

Join us in ensuring the stability and performance of community-created mods, official mods, and vanilla game systems! As a Programmer for Modding Quality, you'll play a key role in safeguarding the game experience while ensuring the game architecture remains flexible for modding. This involves diagnosing and addressing issues, testing for bugs and crashes, and ensuring platform compliance (e.g.- PlayStation, Xbox). You’ll work closely with the Modding Supervisor and the development team to foster a smooth modding process and enhance the overall player experience.

Job Description

Your primary task will be to test and troubleshoot community mods, official mods, and vanilla game systems to ensure seamless integration and performance. You’ll identify technical issues such as scripting errors or conflicts, and resolve them independently or as part of a team. Additionally, you’ll focus on ensuring that vanilla game systems remain modding compliant, allowing modders to extend or modify without breaking the game's core functionality.

You will also be responsible for monitoring performance, investigating crashes related to mods, and managing feedback reports from the community. By collaborating with modders and internal developers, you’ll ensure that both community and official mods meet platform-specific guidelines (e.g., PlayStation and Xbox) and that they adhere to the company’s internal policies and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test community-created mods, official mods, and vanilla game systems for bugs, crashes, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Diagnose and resolve mod-related issues such as scripting errors, memory usage, and framerate drops.
  • Ensure vanilla game systems are modding compliant without breaking core functionality.
  • Conduct performance optimization across mods and game systems.
  • Regularly check the Crashstash for mod-related issues and work with the team to address them.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to modders to ensure compliance with rules and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with developers and modders to communicate bugs, performance concerns, and suggested improvements.

About The Company

Our story began with our first game, Arma: Cold War Assault, released back in 2001. Developed by just a handful of people, this PC-exclusive title became a massive success. It sold well over a million copies, received numerous industry awards, and was praised by critics and players alike. Since then, we've grown from a ragtag bunch of garage devs to an international family of over 400 professionals – working on major games like Arma 3, DayZ, Ylands, Vigor, and various other projects. Our ambition: to make games that act as platforms for people to explore, create, and connect.
