Voodoo seeks a Product Counsel to ensure compliance across its gaming and social media products. Responsibilities encompass GDPR, DSA, and other regulatory compliance; developing and implementing policies; overseeing trust and safety strategies; acting as the primary data protection contact; providing advice on platform liability; and collaborating with various departments. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience, including law firm experience, expertise in GDPR/DSA, and strong communication and leadership skills. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment and involves navigating challenges in compliance, data protection, and content regulation.

Voodoo’s Corporate function is composed of five teams: HR, Talent acquisition, Legal, M&A and Finance, working together to drive Voodoo’s success.

Role

We are looking for an agile, creative, and business oriented product legal counsel who will work hand in hand with the product, business, and dev teams to ensure our products and games are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
You will be working both on the gaming and social media verticals, ensuring a great variety and exciting challenges in your day to day work.
You will report to the Head of legal and work in a team of sharp and smart legal counsels focusing on compliance, commercial, IP and litigation matters.

Responsbilities

    • Regulatory Compliance: Lead compliance initiatives for GDPR, the DSA, and other applicable regulations. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure regulatory adherence. Monitor legal developments and proactively advise on compliance risks.

    • Trust & Safety: Oversee trust and safety strategies, focusing on user protection, content moderation, and platform security. Collaborate with operational and product teams to develop processes that address harmful or illegal content, misinformation, and user risks. Ensure compliance with global trust and safety standards, including reporting obligations and transparency requirements.

    • Data Protection and Privacy: Act as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and other regulatory bodies. Oversee data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and other risk assessment tools. Ensure proper handling of data subject rights requests and incident response protocols.

    • Platform Liability and Content Regulation: Provide strategic advice on compliance with the DSA, focusing on intermediary liability, content moderation, and transparency obligations. Collaborate with product, IT, and operational teams to ensure compliance across platforms.

    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as IT, HR, Trust & Safety, and product development to align legal and operational strategies. Represent the company in external legal and regulatory matters.

Profile

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (not including internships)
    • First experience in a law firm is highly preferred.
    • Expertise in GDPR, DSA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
    • Solid background in data protection, privacy law, and tech industry.
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, result-driven environment.
