Procurement Manager
Nielsen is embarking on a transformational journey to modernize and streamline its end-to-end procurement processes. We need a skilled manager to help our teams navigate these changes. The Procurement Manager will develop and execute sourcing plans while managing strategic supplier relationships and end to end ownership of key contracts.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the assessment, selection, negotiation, and execution of contracts and relationship management of providers of externally contracted services to Nielsen.
Responsibilities:
⦁Align Nielsen strategy with effective procurement category strategies that deliver best-in-class products and services at the lowest possible cost
⦁Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
⦁Lead the strategic procurement activities involving the assessment, selection, negotiation and management for externally contracted services
⦁Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for purchasing processes.
⦁Review and approving purchase orders ensuring the right risk mitigation and commercial validation requirements
⦁Proactively identify areas of opportunity for new business opportunities, process improvement, procedures and/or systems to improve organizational efficiencies and cost controls
⦁Develops a purchasing strategy.
⦁Manages other members of the purchasing team.
⦁Maintains reports of team performance, Purchase transactions with TAT, Accuracy
⦁Perform root cause analysis for any error and reiterate team on the respective learnings
⦁Ensure timely creation and fulfillment of purchase orders.
⦁Coordinates with Internal stakeholders to align all purchase initiatives with respect to categories
⦁Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise - Turn Around Time and Accuracy
⦁Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
⦁Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of experience working with expertise in driving cost saving initiatives and other desired business outcomes
⦁Experience developing and implementing category strategy leading to year-over-year KPI improvement (for example cost savings, diversity spend, etc.).
⦁Prior experience in the sourcing event management (RFX management): Scoping & Planning, Detailed Requirements Definition & SOW Development, Evaluation & Selection, Negotiation & Contract Award, Implementation, Relationship & Contract Management, and Contract Transition & Termination
⦁Good understanding of product offerings and/or experience negotiating enterprise agreements
⦁A desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment
⦁Ability to multi-task is critical for success in this role. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously with potentially conflicting tight deadlines
⦁Working knowledge of Ariba, Power BI, or other P2P platforms or spend analytics applications
⦁Excellent decision making and analytical abilities focused on minimizing risks, along with clear and effective communication skills
⦁Master’s in business degree (preferred)
