Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Principal Quest Designer to join the development of a new IP.
As a Principal Quest Designer, you will build and implement creative quest content and mentor members of a growing and exciting design team at Elsewhere Entertainment. You will collaborate with a team of designers, engineers, artists, producers, and QA to carry quest design from initial pitch into final implementation, and be a champion of Elsewhere's core values. As a member of the design department, you’ll create fun and memorable campaign experiences by designing and implementing the many types of campaign content that players can engage with in our game.
As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration. You’ll help us by…
Being responsible for the development of our game’s campaign experience
Supporting and enlarging on a new intellectual property’s foundational lore
Collaborating with the narrative team and other design departments in crafting the game’s locations, characters, factions, content, and plots
Designing and implementing functional game content and becoming proficient in using our tools
Providing constructive feedback on others’ work and acting as a liaison to other departments, conveying the consistent design vision
Mentoring staff and associate game designers
You’re awesome because you have…
Proven experience (7+ years) as a professional Game Designer (or some combination of applicable training and experience) and have shipped 1 or more titles
Experience with technical game design (implementation in tools, game logic, visual scripting, etc)
Ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team and comfortable with self-critique and accepting outside feedback
Eagerness to work independently; are dedicated in taking ownership of tasks in a highly confidential environment
Creativity in problem solving and a passionate about putting the team first
Experience pitching game design concepts in a clear, detailed manner, through strong written and verbal skills
Organization methods and the capability to meet agreed timelines
Habit of regularly playing and understanding modern video games and a voracious appetite for consuming genre films, television, games, or books
Bonus points for…
Experience with AAA games
Major recognition in your field of work
Having made your own game as a side or indie project
Experience in adjacent fields such as narrative design, environment art, programming, etc
Experience playing and/or crafting pen and paper, board, or trading card games
