Job Description

As Game Director for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 at Ubisoft Bucharest, you will play a key role in shaping and developing future game updates. You will be part of the core team, defining the direction of the game to increase player engagement and deliver memorable experiences. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Lead Producer, Creative Director, and Business Performance Director to define and manage game design direction, ensuring that game systems align with the creative vision, and validating the overall quality of the gameplay experience. You will also lead and motivate various teams, set best practices for development processes, and mentor the lead game designer and game design team. You will act as the spokesperson for the game's vision internally and externally.
Must have:
  • Previous experience in game design
  • Proven experience in leadership roles
  • Extensive experience with live/GaaS games
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Ability to promote gaming experiences to a diverse audience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving, organizational, and mentorship skills

Job Description

Your life at Ubi

As Game Director at Ubisoft Bucharest, you will contribute to the success of the Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. You will be reporting directly to the Lead Producer, and you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best teams in the industry.

You will have a pivotal role in shaping and developing future game updates, being part of the core team of the project and defining the way the game direction will evolve, in order to increase engagement of our players and deliver fun, memorable experiences.

You will ensure that game systems properly convey the creative vision, validating overall quality of gameplay experience.

Your main mission:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Producer, Creative Director and Business Performance Director in order to define, structure and manage the game design direction and the ambition for both long term plans and the scope of each release
  • Demonstrate pragmatism, weighing ideal solutions against the realities of a live product and steering the project through each release.
  • Align and motivate various teams under one vision.
  • Follow through and ensure that the project vision is reflected in all stages of design and implementation.
  • Validate the consistency and quality the gameplay experience
  • Work with the production team to set best practices on iteration, review, validation and scoping processes
  • Act as a mentor for the lead game designer and the game design team
  • Be the spokesperson for the game's vision within the team, with Ubisoft management, and with the press during events or official external communications

Qualifications
