MPIN_Business Analyst - Finance

To partner with the business managing and interpreting business data and critical performance indicators, while translating the latest business trends into accurate forecasts, providing financial and strategic support to ensure that business decisions are appropriately based on accurate and reliable metrics and financial information for competitive advantage.

Business Analytics and Reporting

Facilitate development of standardized definitions of master data and KPIs for effective data management, while seeking to improve or automate wherever possible
• Collects and synthesizes information from a variety of stakeholders within the standards of legal compliance
• Work with operations, partner management and business teams to provide analyse and report plans vs actuals on regular basis; Present entity performance dashboards, conduct variance analysis and support action planning
• Run predictive analytics and data modelling for improved business outcomes based on inventory analysis, buyer trends, campaign analysis, commodity and exchange market trends etc.
• Drive analysis of cost and pricing trends and articulate related cause and effect to business teams
• Routinely communicate business unit and company consolidated financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics
• Assist in concocting proposals related to changes in policies and guidelines, ensure new policies and guidelines are being followed and implemented
• Analyse business programs and transactional data using statistical methods to identify causal relationships and trends

Compliance management

Ensure compliance to global, state, and central government reporting and filing requirements and support the functional excellence team with relevant inputs
• Adhere to relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure controlled and consistent flow of information
• Support development of finance data management workflows and processes, and data reporting and review mechanisms
• Support the Finance Business Partner in managing the assets in the books of the company and set up controls around the same
• Collaborate closely with the functional excellence team controllers and accountants on monthly financial activities and month‐end close processes; Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements as needed

Business Partnering and Support

• Work with MPS and emerging solution businesses during forecasting and reporting cycles applying modelling, forecasting and planning techniques
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partner to study in-market strategic initiatives and business performance using test and control analytics, benchmarking, statistical concepts, and financial measures to guide decision making by business
• Provide timely data inputs to foresee fund requirements and effectively manage the cash flow
• Support the development of the finance data management strategy to ensure business alignment and functional excellence team integration with other interfacing functions
• Participate in the development and submission of feasibility studies, business plans and investment initiatives, to provide a thorough financial perspective of the relevant opportunities and risks
• Prepare presentations in support of stakeholder meetings, monthly/quarterly senior leadership meetings and various strategic committees of the company
• Act as a running source of truth for numbers – key metrics and performance drivers for MPS and other emerging businesses

Education

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, business or related field
• CA/CMA/MBA desirable

Relevant Experience

2-3 years of financial analytical experience in a marketplace environment

Knowledge

• Commercial knowledge and knowledge of local and global accounting and tax standards including industry standards and other regulations
• Knowledge of controls and risk management frameworks Knowledge of enterprise financial systems
• Knowledge of industry and other financial best practises for cost management and budgetary control
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, and familiarity with databases
• Experience using any of SQL / Tableau / R / Python is desirable
