Job Description

Lead CPU Design Verification Engineer at Google will design verification for future CPU developments, build functional verification infrastructure (unit, multi-unit, core, and subsystem levels), produce diagnostic code for quality CPUs, and verify/validate pre-silicon and post-silicon performance. The role requires expertise in verification methodologies (UVM, SystemVerilog), processor microarchitecture, and ideally low-power design verification. The team develops custom silicon for Google's products, pushing boundaries in hardware innovation for performance and efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site position in Austin, TX or Portland, OR.
Must have:
  • 8+ years verification experience (UVM, SystemVerilog)
  • Processor microarchitecture expertise
  • Design verification for CPUs
  • Build verification infrastructure
  • Produce diagnostic code
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in relevant field
  • Low-power design verification experience
  • Linux/Android OS knowledge
  • ARM ISA familiarity

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with verification methodologies and languages such as UVM and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with processor microarchitecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  • Experience in low-power design verification.
  • Knowledge of general purpose operating systems such as Linux and Android.
  • Familiarity with ARM Instruction Set Architecture.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$266,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
