The HPC Support Escalation Engineer will own, troubleshoot, and solve complex customer technical issues related to High-Performance Computing (HPC). This role involves acting as a technical advisor to customers, collaborating across teams, and utilizing troubleshooting tools and practices. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving complex issues, building communities with peers, sharing knowledge through readiness programs, mentoring others, deepening technical proficiency through training, engaging with engineering teams to identify and resolve product defects, and contributing to the development of automation techniques and diagnostic tools. The position offers the flexibility to work up to 100% remotely.
Must have:
  • Experience supporting HPC in Linux or Windows
  • Troubleshooting complex technical issues
  • Collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Deep technical proficiency in HPC
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, InfiniBand
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with HPC schedulers

Overview

In the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team we are looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success. As a HPC Support Escalation Engineer, you will own, troubleshoot and solve complex customer technical issues. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting HPC in a Linux or Windows environment

Preferred Qualifications

Strong technical experience in three or more of the following:

  • Managing HPC clusters on-premises or on Cloud
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related protocol, InfiniBand
  • Familiarity with HPC schedulers
  • Familiarity with MPI libraries and programming
  • Understand hierarchical file systems, including high performance parallel storage, and HPC cache

Language Qualification

English Language: fluent in reading, writing and speaking.

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Responsibilities

Response and Resolution:

  • You own, investigate, and solve complex customer technical issues and act as an advisor to the customer, collaborating within and across teams and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.

Readiness:

  • You lead in building communities with peer delivery roles and share your knowledge through readiness programs, technical coaching and mentoring of others.
  • You deepen your technical and professional proficiency to enable you to resolve complex customer issues, through training and readiness.

Product/Process Improvement:

  • You engage with Microsoft Engineering/ Supportability teams to investigate potential product defects and help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools driving Microsoft product improvements.
