The Position:
Hardware Product Management Director – Switching Products
 
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Product Management Director to lead the strategy for Extreme Networks' hardware product management, specifically for our wired products. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and driving the hardware strategy and roadmap of Extreme’s Enterprise and Data Center switches. In this role, you will apply your business experience and acumen to increase the revenue and profitability of Extreme’s portfolio with newer and innovative products while engaging Engineering at a technical level.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Define the hardware strategy and roadmap for Extreme’s switching products.
    • Develop business cases supporting the hardware strategy and present to executives.
    • Write technical Product Requirement Documents and collaborate closely with Engineering.
    • Drive the switching products lifecycle from vision and planning through to product delivery, end of sale and transitioning to newer products
    • Responsible for forecasting and pricing for switching products.
    • Deep understanding of Extreme Networks enterprise portfolio, target customer segments, technology use cases, solution value propositions and competitive positioning.
    • Engage and influence various cross functional stakeholders to drive portfolio specific projects.
    • Evangelize business advantages and technical capabilities of our products and solutions to customers, sales, and partners. Provide solution-level and industry thought leadership at EBC based customer engagements and external industry speaking engagements.

Qualifications/Experience/Characteristics:

    • Master's Degree in computer science or electrical engineering; or equivalent work experience. MBA desired.
    • Demonstrated success in the past in bringing switching products to the market. Over 5 years of experience as a Product Manager, with specific focus on hardware switching products.
    • In depth understanding of enterprise campus and data center market trends, competitive landscape, technology advancements and customer deployments.
    • Familiarity and practical experience in IP routing, Ethernet switching, VLAN, MLAG, Fabric, L2VPN, Stacking technologies.
    • Desired experience in using Cloud based management of switching products.
    • Holistic understanding of campus networks (wired and wireless) design, including switching, routing, firewalls, policy management, etc.
    • Experience in financial analysis, data modeling, pricing, products bundling and promotions.
    • Outstanding communications and presentation skills, ability to communicate to an executive audience. Demonstrated speaking engagements at public forums.
    • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to drive and influence teams across the organization.
