The Opportunity
PwC IT Services Limited provides shared technology services to the PwC network of member firms in a secure, legally compliant, efficient, and transparent manner.
The Global Hosting Service Operations Director will be a member of the Global Hosting Services (GHS) Cloud & Data Center Operations team and comes to the organization with experience in data center and cloud operations and associated technologies, including expertise in Windows, Active Directory / Identity Management. This would also include extensive cloud experience with Azure and other clouds, large-scale enterprise operations, observability (logging, monitoring, alerting), ITIL, SOC-2, ISO 27001, Agile methodologies, and people management of multiple tiers.
As the Global Hosting Service Operations Director, you will lead the Windows Compute, Windows Identity & Access, and OS Image Factory teams, each with their team leads for day-to-day operations. Your role will involve driving strategy, lifecycle management, road mapping, leadership reporting, continuous improvement, performance management, stakeholder management, metrics collection and reporting, and escalations.
Furthermore, the Global Hosting Service Operations Director will serve as a crucial interface between the GHS Operations Team and the various Firm (i.e. PwC) teams that depend on the solution. Therefore, the ideal candidate will already possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
The Global Hosting Service provides and operates highly available 24/7 servers, IaaS, and PaaS across three on-premise hosting centers in Germany, Singapore, and the USA and Cloud Service Providers (Microsoft Azure Cloud, Amazon Web Service, and Google Cloud Platform).
What you will be doing:
Planning and completing goals and objectives across the Containers and Provisioning teams for each fiscal year
Driving strategy and thought leadership among your teams and peers
Hosting regular customer feedback sessions and retrospectives
Holding regular one-on-ones with each team member
Providing team member performance feedback to leadership to make decisions on bonuses and career progression
Handling licensing renewals for Rancher (or its successor), Prisma Cloud Compute
Managing the lifecycle for IaaS server infrastructure, Windows Operating Systems, OS Images, disaster recovery (DR), support cases, observability, and customer communications
Understanding and implementing critical metrics of success for operating services in an enterprise
Prioritizing each team’s work to meet business objectives and maximize value to the network of firms
Communicating your vision, mission, and values to your people and leadership to drive alignment
Serving as the escalation point across all of your teams and rapidly unblocking issues
Ensuring operations best practices are being followed.
Creating complex business process diagrams that communicate concepts to stakeholders
Managing vendor relationships for both technology and resources
Leading optimization of cloud resources to drive down costs for PwC and your customers
Identifying automation opportunities and driving continuous improvements
Working with third-party service providers to establish quality and consistent delivery of service to published SLAs
Maintaining compliance with Change Control Processes and adhering to all standards and documentation
Responsible for collation of data and the distribution of daily and monthly operational reports as required
Being responsible for awareness and compliance with all aspects relating to policy and guidelines of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), including but not limited to the Information Security Policy (ISP)
Performing all related job functions following established processes and procedures to preserve the confidentiality of information hosted and managed by the PwC IT Service Co from unauthorized disclosure
Protecting the integrity of information hosted and managed by the PwC IT Service Co. from unauthorized or accidental modification and preserving the accuracy and completeness of this information
Being responsible for reporting any (known or suspected) breach in information security or policies
What we need from you:
Basic Qualifications
Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma
Degree Preferred: Bachelors Degree
Minimum Years of Experience: 20 years in IT
Preferred Certifications
Windows Certifications (varied)
ITIL certification.
CSP – Azure
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
At least ten years of experience in an operations role
At least five years of experience managing others at the Senior Manager level
Excellent communication skills
Understanding and implementing critical metrics of success for operating services in an enterprise
Work cross-functionally and lead cross-functional teams to deliver united solutions.
Demonstrating the ability to empathize with customers and respectfully engage stakeholders to align on goals, business objectives, timelines, and execution plans.
