The Team and Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firmware Technical Manager to join our Audio Cluster team within Hardware Engineering, specializing in the development of Bluetooth mobile speaker products.

The Firmware Technical Manager is responsible for developing and optimizing firmware solutions for our state-of-the-art mobile speaker products. The expertise will be critical in ensuring the seamless integration of firmware with our innovative audio technologies.

• Develop and drive the design, development, and debugging of firmware solutions for Classic Bluetooth and LE Audio speaker products, including audio processing, connectivity, battery management, and device integration.

• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements and specifications, ensuring firmware compatibility and seamless integration with the components.

• Implement and optimize firmware architectures and algorithms to deliver superior audio quality, and reliable connectivity.

• Conduct thorough testing and validation of firmware designs, adhering to industry standards and best practices, and addressing compatibility across various platforms.

• Work closely with software developers to integrate firmware with higher-level headset applications and software stacks.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex firmware-related issues throughout the development and production process.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables.

• Ensure the production starts according to plan committed at G1 by managing the embedded software development cycles and by supporting the hardware project milestones. Contribute to the project post launch activities (PCR, customer feedback OTA updates).

• Lead and mentor the FW teams from JDM/ODM company if required, providing technical guidance, support, and performance management.

• Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and standards in Bluetooth or USB audio, firmware engineering, and the headset industry.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

• Bachelor or Master in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or related field.

• Experience in implementation of audio streaming and rendering technologies (Bluetooth, USB audio, I2S, Codec, DSP), preferable in consumer electronics applications.

• Excellent C programming skills, good understanding of electronic designs.

• Great written and oral communication skills. Technical leadership and excellent teamwork.

• Experience working with Bluetooth technology and implementing profiles such as HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, and LEA-related services.

• Experience with BT sniffer, USB protocol analyzer and logic analyzer.

• Experience with battery management and power optimization in portable devices.

• Solid understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and device drivers.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Strong experience with Git or other version control systems for managing firmware codebase, tracking changes, and collaborating with the firmware team.

• Strong documentation skills to ensure clear and comprehensive documentation of firmware changes, releases, and versioning.

• Great written and oral communication skills. Technical leadership and excellent teamwork.

• 7 years of experience in related consumer electronics, audio products or embedded software development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Having the experiences on Airoha bluetooth platform or Auracast of LEA is a strong plus.
