Summary

The Director of Game Design at Tilting Point is responsible for the successful launch and operation of externally developed mobile games. This role requires managing trade-offs between scope, quality, budget, and schedule. Key responsibilities include reviewing and creating designs to maximize engagement and monetization, defining the product roadmap with the Game Manager, collaborating with third-party studios and internal stakeholders (Marketing, UA, Production, Operations), identifying and resolving roadblocks, communicating with IP stakeholders, and managing third-party technology and tools (business intelligence, analytics, A/B testing). The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of mobile strategy games, strong communication skills, and an affinity for the Avatar license.

Responsibilities:

  • Ship and operate mobile games developed externally, orchestrating trade-offs between scope, quality, budget and schedule.
  • Review, advise and create designs to maximize engagement and monetization
  • Help define the roadmap with the Game Manager to ensure long term success of the project.
  • Partner with 3rd party studio as well as internal key stakeholders including Marketing, UA, Production and Operations to help drive execution of the Product’s roadmap.
  • Identify, communicate and solve roadblocks that may prevent the team from achieving their targets.
  • Communicate with IP stakeholders to ensure approval of designs, narrative, and supporting artwork.
  • Participate in the management of 3rd party technology and tools (business intelligence, analytics, A/B testing etc.) to be used by Tilting Point and by development partners.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of mobile strategy games, their monetization loops, and engagement loops
  • Strong communication skills across disciplines
  • Affinity for the Avatar license
  • Ability to self serve data on a variety of platforms
