Job Description

LSEG seeks a DevOps Engineer Lead to deploy product updates, identify production issues, and implement customer-focused integrations. The role requires a strong software engineering background (Ruby or Python preferred), collaboration with developers and engineers to ensure adherence to processes, and project planning involvement. Responsibilities encompass implementing development/testing tools, defining DevOps processes, code review/validation, troubleshooting, process monitoring/improvement, cybersecurity implementation, CI/CD pipeline creation, customer experience monitoring, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Linux infrastructure, database management (SQL Server, MySQL, Mongo), troubleshooting, and various tools/technologies.

Must have:

Linux infrastructure experience
Ruby, Python, Perl, or Java proficiency
Database management (SQL, MySQL, Mongo)
Troubleshooting skills
DevOps and Agile knowledge
CI/CD pipeline implementation
Code review and validation
Cybersecurity measures implementation

Good to have:

Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering
Civil engineering or customer experience background
Experience in large company application development

Project description

At LSEG, customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve the customer experience, we’re looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Ruby or Python, and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. The DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions.

Responsibilities

Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs

Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure

Setting up tools and required infrastructure

Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation

Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.

Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs

Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage

Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management

Incidence management and root cause analysis

Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools

Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)

Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs

Managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management and the customer

Skills

Must have

Experience working on Linux based infrastructure

Excellent understanding of Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java

Configuration and managing databases such as SQL sever, MySQL, Mongo

Excellent troubleshooting

Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services

Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles

Nice to have

Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field

Experience in civil engineering or customer experience

Experience in developing/engineering applications for a large company
