Job Description

Destructoid seeks a freelance writer to create high-quality Roblox game guides on weekends. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of the Roblox community, can identify trending topics, and produce in-depth guides, listicles, rankings, and breaking news. Strong writing skills, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent communication are essential. The role requires pitching ideas, adhering to publishing schedules, and adapting to evolving needs. Experience with Trello and WordPress is preferred. Compensation is $16-$90 per piece, depending on content type and length. International rates may vary.

Must have:

In-depth Roblox knowledge
High-quality writing samples

Good to have:

1-2 years game writing experience
Trello and WordPress experience
Deep video game community knowledge

Destructoid is a place for passionate gamers to find engaging articles & information about their favorite franchises written by other passionate gamers. Currently, we're looking for freelance writers to join our fully remote and international newsroom.

Working with Destructoid means writing high-quality game guides for Roblox. Competitive applicants will have in-depth knowledge about the Roblox beat and will track current news and topics within the community to contribute in-depth guides, listicles, rankings, and breaking news. We encourage writers to use their own voice when writing.

We are currently looking to cover Roblox games other than Fisch, Ultimate Blue Lock, Anime Reborn, and Dig It - but there will be opportunities to write about all things Roblox.

Requirements:

Must be a self starter who can confidently pitch trending ideas on weekends
Meet deadlines for publishing stories
Good communication habits

Preferred:

At least 1-2 years of prior game writing experience (with Trello and WordPress training)
Deep knowledge of video games and their related communities
Excitement, dedication, and an ability to pivot when needed
