Job Description

As a Customer Engineer in Google Cloud's Infrastructure Modernization team, you'll work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to customers. You'll help prospective and existing customers understand Google Cloud, develop cloud solutions, estimations, and architectures. Responsibilities include crafting go-to-market strategies, identifying and resolving technical blockers, demonstrating product integrations, recommending migration strategies, and working with the Account team to close agreements. You'll need experience in cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, and virtualization, along with strong IT discussion and cloud adoption planning skills. Travel to customer sites and events will be required.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
6+ years experience in infrastructure modernization
Cloud migration/data center migration experience
Lead IT discussions and design cloud adoption plans
Work with sales to introduce Google Cloud to customers

Good to have:

Master's degree in CS or related field
Experience with Kubernetes, RDBMS, NoSQL databases
Windows/Linux system administration experience
Understanding of virtualization and networking concepts
Understanding of AI and Machine Learning concepts

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field.
6 years of experience planning infrastructure modernization as a technical consultant, technical pre-sales engineer, or enterprise architect.
Experience in one of the following: cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, virtualization, application/servers assessment/discovery.
Experience in leading IT discussions and design cloud adoption plans.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience architecting and implementing solutions on any public cloud as an enterprise architect or IT infrastructure consultant.
Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem, Relational Database Management System and NOSQL databases.
Experience with Windows, Linux system administration, or Enterprise applications.
Understanding of virtualization and networking concepts (e.g., Linux, hypervisors, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks) and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.
Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.

Responsibilities

Inspire customers and peers to solve difficult problems with novel solutions, leveraging a sophisticated set of technical competences.
Manage the Go-to-Market strategy from a technical perspective. Craft the strategy to transform the customers, identify customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments. Help the Account team to close agreements from a technical perspective.
Recommend migration strategies, enterprise architectures, migration tools, and cloud infrastructure required to complete solutions using on Google Cloud.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events, as needed.
