JioCinema is seeking a seasoned, visionary Creative Director to join our team in Mumbai, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Brand & Creative Marketing. As the creative lead, you will be instrumental in elevating our creative communications and storytelling, helping define and refine JioCinema’s voice and identity as a brand that is set to disrupt the digital media & entertainment industry and cater to the content aspirations of 1.4 billion people.

About the Brand and Creative Marketing Team:

The Brand & Creative Marketing team (BCM) leads the creative strategy and development of all platform/ service campaigns, tentpole content marketing campaigns and brand-first strategic initiatives for JioCinema. We deliver customised creative solutions to business objectives by using culture and creativity to drive word of mouth & earn headlines that eventually drive viewership, acquire subscribers, and build the brand.

The Brand & Creative Marketing team works side-by-side with the business development, sports & content marketing, product, design and content leaders across JioCinema’s central, sports and entertainment functions.

About the role:

The ideal candidate must demonstrate deep passion and expertise in creative marketing. Any entertainment marketing experience will be preferred. The right candidate will be capable of building strong creative that can drive specific outcomes - consumer acquisition, brand and platform adoption and buzz / word of mouth around the biggest JioCinema content and brand offerings.

The candidate should be well versed in developing a campaign positioning and strategy and ultimately, the crafting and execution of marketing campaigns that inspire people to share and talk about JioCinema and our content.
This role must be able to closely collaborate with key cross-functional leaders across Title/ Sports Marketing, Business Development, Partnerships, Content, Consumer Insights, Product & Design, PR and Media strategy.

What will you do?

    • You will have the critical responsibility of being a senior creative leader for comms of all marquee brand, catalogue or content marketing efforts. You will set the foundational bar of creative excellence ensuring every campaign/idea aligns with JioCinema's strategic goals and is delivered to the highest standards.
    • Thought leadership, brand comms & creative strategy along with the head of brand & creative marketing to define the ‘voice’ of brand JioCinema across video and static mediums. You are the brand’s daily creative comms steward, setting the foundation, shaping and guiding its brand personality and guidelines across various platforms and touchpoints.
    • You will lead and inspire creative teams (internal & external agencies) fostering an environment of creativity and excellence. When working with agencies, you will build the foundational creative concepts that reflect the strategic spaces and provide guidance and feedback to partner agencies to deliver the most high quality creative output.
    • You will manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and in close collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders.
    • You will be expected to build effective creative workflows, budget & resourcing efficiencies and a regular cadence of learnings and best practices.
    • You will support the Head of BCM to panel a network of creative agencies & freelancers across markets. Existing relationships with leading advertising agencies and brands is a bonus.
    • You will work closely with the creative strategy team to set the creative platform/ positioning ensuring business objectives are met for each campaign, and with the campaign management and operations team to ensure the campaign is delivered in time.
    • You will lead creative brainstorms/ workshops, presentations, briefings and owning the creative feedback loop and output with partners and agencies.
    • You will work in close partnership with the Business & strategy heads across functions, GTM leads, Content and PR teams internally, and production houses and talent externally, to arrive at creative solutions that balance both brand and business needs.
    • You will ensure consistency and brand alignment across all JioCinema marketing elements contributing to a cohesive brand language and identity that’s maintained across business, product and marketing teams within the extended organisation. You will introduce new partners and agencies to the brand, creative guidelines and workflow.

Who should apply?

    • 15+ years of experience in a creative role across the creative communications business on the brand or agency side, with a strong portfolio of impactful and award-winning work spanning a range of different industries. Demonstrated creative excellence & innovative thinking in entertainment marketing, OTT marketing or traditional D2C brand advertising will be preferred.
    • Proven track record of building world-class campaigns for premium brands / entertainment properties that have resulted in business impact and created a passionate following amongst consumers.
    • A media-agnostic thinker who can ideate for any space and impact the right audience. Knows how to get to great work and brings a fresh perspective to the way people connect with culture, content and brands.
    • Deep expertise of running a 360 campaign - from strategic development to tactical execution (including but not limited to thematic TVCs, thematic & edit-based AVs, trailers, static, digital / social, OOH, activations, stunts etc.
    • Dexterity in both business acumen and creative vision. A creative shepherd and problem solver who is able to drive multiple projects from start to finish and turn cool ideas into reality.
    • Is a cross-functional leader with a track record of establishing a brilliant internal culture that balances collaboration with individual creativity and is able to drive a culture of early alignment and collaboration with internal teams on overall strategy and goals, and carry through the collaboration through to launch.
    • Has strong commercial acumen and is able to drive, manage and deploy budgets in a cost-effective manner.
    • Has deep intellectual curiosity and knowledge of Indian pop culture and native understanding of the social media landscape - platform best practices and consumers' (social) media behaviours etc.
