Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally excellent Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help drive this next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, planning, and execution in alignment with our long-term vision of creating a global action sports league. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), global live event forecasting, and private equity-backed businesses. This leader must balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on execution, ensuring financial discipline while enabling rapid growth and innovation. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic & Financial Leadership 

• Develop and execute a financial strategy that aligns with X Games’ transformation into a global action sports league. 
• Lead all financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting across multiple global live events, team ownership structures, and revenue streams. 
• Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and private equity investors, ensuring sound financial decision-making. Private Equity & Investor Relations 
• Work closely with MSP Sports Capital and other investors, ensuring transparency, financial discipline, and strong ROI on all initiatives. 
• Manage capital allocation, fundraising, and financial structuring to support the launch of new teams, events, and global operations. 
• Lead financial due diligence and M&A strategy for potential acquisitions, partnerships, or franchise expansion. 

Live Events & League Financial Operations 

• Oversee financial forecasting and cost management for live global events, ensuring profitability and operational efficiency. 
• Build scalable financial systems to support team franchise models, sponsorship revenue, and athlete compensation structures. 
• Ensure robust contract structuring and risk management for event production, team ownership deals, and media rights. 

Operational & Compliance Excellence 

• Build and lead a world-class nance team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and innovation. 
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax structures, and global reporting requirements. 
• Implement best-in-class financial controls, systems, and processes to support long-term growth. 

Ideal Candidate Profile Must-Have Experience

✅ Proven CFO experience with a track record of driving financial strategy and execution at a high-growth company. 

✅ Deep expertise in financial forecasting & FP&A for global live events, sports leagues, or entertainment properties. 

✅ Strong background in private equity-backed businesses, with experience managing financials under PE ownership. 

✅ Experience structuring new team ownership models, revenue-sharing agreements, and franchise-based financial structures. 

✅ Hands-on operational experience, including P&L management, budgeting, and capital deployment. 

Preferred Experience 

• Experience in media rights, sponsorship revenue modeling, and licensing deals. 
• Prior work in a sports, entertainment, or live event-driven organization.
