Job Summary:

Humble Bundle is looking for a driven and collaborative Manager of Business Development to join our Games team.
 
In this player-coach role, you will be responsible for coordinating key promotional initiatives while directly supplying to revenue goals and supporting the professional growth of at least one direct report. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for gaming and a proven curiosity about people management, eager to craft Humble’s business development efforts and uphold our mission of supporting charitable causes through our Games platform.
 
Job Duties:
  • Lead by example in a player-coach capacity, contributing directly to promotional revenue while guiding the professional development of direct reports.
  • Drive business growth through deal-making with game developers and publishers, creating game promotions that resonate with our community and generate value for our partners.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across the organization to ensure seamless execution of game promotions.
  • Work with Senior Management to implement people management standard processes and develop team members within a structured Sales Management framework.
  • Assist in the drafting of objectives and key results, communication decks, and other materials relevant to strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain a current and detailed understanding of the gaming industry, regularly researching trends and new opportunities to elevate Humble’s offerings.
  • Serve as a key contact for partners, encouraging strong, long-term relationships through regular communication, conventions, and in-person meetings.
  • Facilitate transparent and constructive feedback channels with team members to maintain a high-performing, positive work environment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in business development or sales, preferably in digital retail or the gaming industry, with experience contributing directly to revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interest in people management, with a commitment to developing skills through industry research and standard methodologies.
  • Experience overseeing direct reports or strong interest in developing a role in people management, with the ability to coach and manage performance effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to internal and external collaborators.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a focus on establishing lasting partnerships with key developers and publishers.
  • Passion for games and a deep understanding of the gaming ecosystem, including current industry trends and customer preferences.
Work Environment:
  • Work Schedule: Standard full-time working schedule, M-F. From time-to-time, there may be an expectation for this role to work outside of standard working hours when attending conferences and conventions such as Game Developers Conference and gamescom.
  • Travel Requirements: This role will be required to travel to conventions and partner meetings, both domestically and internationally.
  • Physical Requirements: This role involves typical office and computer-based activities, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent use of hands, fingers, and vision for tasks such as operating a computer, mouse, and keyboard. Occasional travel is required, which could include lifting and carrying materials, and navigating airports, hotels, and other venues.
  • Work Model: For applicants who reside in or around Los Angeles or New York, there may be a requirement to go into our offices 2-3 days per week. For others located in different areas around the US, this position will be remote.

Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,000 to $115,000, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policies.
