Beat Games is an integral part of Reality Labs at Meta, and their smash hit game, Beat Saber, is a top performer on the Quest Platform. Beat Games is located in Prague, Czech Republic, and they are the award-winning game studio that created the original Beat Saber, which has sold over 4 million copies to date and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including Queen, The Rolling Stones, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, BTS and The Weeknd. As an Art Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of artists in order to create new and unique assets in the style of Beat Saber. You will partner with the rest of the production teams and ensure we ship the most consistent assets of the highest quality.
Art Manager Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the art production from the concept art to implementation in-engine.
Manage, coach and mentor the art team. Support their career growth and continue building their capabilities.
Provide timely and comprehensive feedback to the art assets (that include concept art, 3D models of props and environments, visual development work).
Partner closely with the producer on the scope, schedule and task tracking of the art team.
Partner with cross-functional teams across all workstreams to influence and align on the quality and scope of the art assets of the game. Cross-functional teams include: Tech Art, Game Design, UI, QA, Backend, Marketing.
Manage communication with the outsource art vendors and quality of their work.
Create concepts of environments and props for the game.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in design and quality control of the assets for games on every stage of production.
Experience managing small teams of artists.
Mastery of graphic editors like Adobe Photoshop and/or equivalent skills with a 3D software for creating concept art.
A portfolio that shows strong artistic voice as well as adaptability to pre-established styles.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Autodesk Maya (Blender also works).
Experience working on VR projects.
Interest in vis-dev and tech art, readiness to deeply understand those aspects of production.
Experience with art-direction of game projects.
