Video Content Creator (CONTRACT)

Remote or San Francisco, CA

Elsewhere is hiring a Video Content Creator to help us tell the story about our game and our studio. We’re working on a co-op multiplayer game that captures the aesthetic and soul of indie games, the replayability and depth of roguelikes, and the ambition to become a forever game that reaches millions of players.

You’ll help us create short and long-form content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and more. You’ll have creative freedom to scheme up eye-catching, funny, informative, and perhaps occasionally unhinged ways to tell gamers about who we are and what we’re doing.

Our team works in-person out of a beautiful converted industrial space in the Mission District here in San Francisco, CA. Being located in the area is a big plus, but not strictly necessary.

This position is for an ongoing contract. Initial work will be about 10-20 hrs/week depending on business needs. If things go well, more work or perhaps a full-time role are possible.

Your Profile

  • You have deep understanding of social media. You’ve grown an account (perhaps your own or a brand’s) to an impressive number of followers and engagement on at least one major social media platform.
  • You can get your hands dirty with and have expert-level knowledge of video and audio editing software (ex. Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut).

  • You’re analytical when it comes to the performance of your content, and are honest with yourself and your team when something just isn’t working.
  • You have video content production equipment yourself, or are opinionated enough to advise us on what to buy.
  • You’re scrappy and clever about stretching a dollar. You can get very far with a small marketing budget.
  • You’re creative. You bring a founder’s mindset to marketing. That means you’re excited about experimenting novel ways a game studio can reach and engage fans.
  • You love games and the culture surrounding them. You’ve played more games than you can count and have strong opinions on who the best creators are online.
  • You’re ambitious. You want to be an early part of something big. Something with massive potential that players are going to absolutely love. You want to work with a game studio that pushes the envelope of games as a medium.
  • You’re collaborative. You’re excited to work closely our founder, game artists, game engineers, our community, other content creators we work with and more.

About us:

We have a deep bench of talent from diverse backgrounds and have been backed by top Silicon Valley investors. We’re an idealistic team that loves video games and deeply believes in their potential: both as a creative medium and as a way for us to socialize and play together.

Your colleagues would include:

  • an indie game creator who launched a successful game on kickstarter
  • a self-taught immersive artist who bootstrapped built a massive creative business on her own
  • an MIT-educated engineer who single handedly added networking to a hit game in the ARPG genre
  • a gamedev who made an unauthorized fan remake of a Nintendo game that went viral
  • a repeat entrepreneur who previously cofounded a billion-dollar startup
