Summary

Magnopus seeks a detail-oriented VFX Coordinator to manage visual effects production workflow. Responsibilities include scheduling, tracking, and managing workflow to meet deadlines; organizing dailies, meetings, and communication; maintaining updated production databases; managing edits with the editorial department; and anticipating/communicating issues. The coordinator will work closely with VFX Producers and Supervisors, manage resources, and provide support under deadline-driven timelines. The role requires 2+ years of experience with Shotgun/Shotgrid/Flow, strong organization and communication skills, and an understanding of VFX workflows and file formats.

Magnopus is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented VFX Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As a VFX Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day coordination of visual effects production, supporting our project team to ensure smooth, timely, and high-quality delivery of visual effects across various projects.

Magnopus's studio postings are made in advance of work anticipated to be awarded. Hires cannot be made until contracts are awarded. In some instances, contracts may not be awarded which could delay or preempt the interview process. We appreciate your patience.

Responsibilities

    • Works closely with VFX Producer and Supervisors to schedule, track and manage the workflow in order to meet deadlines
    • Organize Dailies, rounds and meetings, taking notes and following up on information as necessary
    • Ensure production database is kept updated daily with notes and key information before departing for the day
    • Communicate any client sessions or meeting changes to the appropriate team member
    • Communicating information quickly and concisely to crew and other departments in person, not just via email
    • Maintain accurate summaries of progress from previous day’s work by artists
    • Anticipate and communicate issues to Producer and Supervisor to resolve problems promptly
    • Manage edits along with editorial department
    • Take responsibility for knowing details of schedule and advising production crew members accordingly
    • Manage resources and communicate clearly within each department
    • Provide superlative support under dead-line driven timelines

Requirements

    • Must have 2+ years of experience working in Shotgun/Shotgrid/Flow, organizing data, creating tasks, running reports, building playlists, distributing notes, organizing deliveries, and ensuring that tracked data is always up to date.
    • Setup Shotgrid dashboards for external vendors and help them integrate within our Shotgrid instance
    • Ability to work in fast paced environment
    • Previous experience as a VFX Production Coordinator
    • Highly organized, exceptional time/project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to prioritize conflicting tasks and juggle multiple projects
    • In depth understanding of live-action and CG based VFX workflow
    • In depth understanding of common file formats and resolutions
