Zscaler seeks an experienced Staff Product Support Engineer for its Customer Service team. This remote role requires 7+ years of experience troubleshooting SSL, HTTP, TCP/IP, and network technologies. Responsibilities include providing second-line phone/email support, partnering with engineering for troubleshooting, reproducing customer issues, documenting resolutions, developing training programs, mentoring other engineers, and providing input on product improvements. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of web-based security and network infrastructure, including security proxies, NGFWs, SSL/IPSec VPNs, and firewalls. Experience with public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP) is essential.
Must have:
  • 7+ years troubleshooting SSL, HTTP, TCP/IP
  • Network transformation technologies experience
  • Packet capture analysis and design/implementation
  • Public cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Web security and network infrastructure knowledge
Good to have:
  • Terraform experience
  • Background in Internet and security technologies (SWG, Sandboxing, Firewalls, DLP, VPNs)
  • CCNA or equivalent certification

We're looking for an experienced Staff Product Support Engineer to join our Customer Service team, reporting to Senior Manager, Product Support. U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the customers assigned to this roleThis is a remote position.  You will:

  • Provide second line phone/email consultation to independently debug complex security/network problems.
  • Partner with Engineering and assist the customer with testing or troubleshooting.
  • Reproduce customer issues to verify problems and provide feedback to Engineering and Operations team. Part of this requires creating entries in our technical support online database to accurately document any incident resolution that is not found in our knowledge base.
  • Develop ongoing training programs for the department and be a mentor to other engineers on advanced troubleshooting, debugging and case management skills.
  • Understand the product direction and customer use-cases and provide input on product and code changes through all points of the product cycle.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of experience troubleshooting SSL, HTTP and TCP/IP
  • Network transformation technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN or WAN Optimization.
  • The ability to read packet captures and past experience with design and implementation
  • Hands-on Experience on at least one public cloud(AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • A detailed working knowledge of web based security and network infrastructure, Security Proxies, such as NGFW, SSL/IPSec VPNs, and Firewalls

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Exposure using Terraform
  • A background in Internet and Security technologies such as SWG, Sandboxing, Firewalls, DLP, and VPNs
  • A vendor certification such as CCNA or equivalent of it

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$122,500$175,000 USD
