Job Description

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and implement touch and haptics functionalities for Pixel devices. Responsibilities include developing features, diagnosing and debugging issues, creating automated testing tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Hardware/Android/Research) and vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience in embedded systems, C++ or C coding, and a strong understanding of Android frameworks. This role involves working on a critical project with opportunities for growth and evolving responsibilities within Google's fast-paced environment. The engineer will contribute to creating superior touch and haptics experiences for future Pixel devices.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent
  • 2 years embedded systems experience
  • C++ or C coding proficiency
  • Develop touch/haptics features
  • Diagnose and debug issues
Good to have:
  • Linux kernel development
  • Low-level driver development
  • Android Framework understanding
  • Create automated tests
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in embedded systems.
  • Experience with coding in C++ or C.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Linux kernel development.
  • Experience in low level driver development.
  • Understanding of Android Framework.
  • Understanding of embedded systems.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Hardware/Android/Research) and vendors to create the best touch and haptics experiences for the next generation of Pixel devices.
