Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, Mobile (iOS) at Waze, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of Waze's iOS application. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, ensuring adherence to best practices, contributing to documentation, debugging and resolving issues, participating in design reviews, and managing project priorities. You'll work with data structures and algorithms, and ideally have experience with accessible technologies. The role requires a strong understanding of iOS application development and a passion for improving navigation and transportation solutions.

Must have:

2+ years iOS development experience
Proficient in data structures & algorithms
Code writing & review skills
Debugging & issue resolution
Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
2 years of experience with iOS application development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
