Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Search, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Google Search. You will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. You will contribute to the design and development of full-stack solutions, utilizing your skills in Java, Python, Typescript, Javascript, UI rendering technologies, libraries and frameworks, server-side optimizations, and infrastructure performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure solutions meet business needs and can adapt to future challenges. You will also identify technical problems with requirements and propose solutions to help the team course-correct when necessary. You will plan, prioritize, and execute work to meet project deadlines.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in software development
  • Experience in testing and launching scalable software products
  • Experience in one programming language (Java, Python, Javascript, Typescript)
  • Experience in web client infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis
  • Experience developing accessible technologies
  • Basic knowledge of browser rendering lifecycles, performance tuning
  • Familiarity with Chrome DevTools and related web technologies for UI rendering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in software development and with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience in testing and launching scalable software products.
  • Experience in one programming language (i.e., Java, Python, Javascript, Typescript) and related frontend technologies, with experience in web client infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of browser rendering lifecycles, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Familiarity with Chrome DevTools and related web technologies for UI rendering.
