SS&C is the largest global investor service provider, servicing more than 55 million investors. Continually investing in global technology and services across the spectrum of distribution channels including: Asset Managers, Financial Advisors, Wealth Managers and large financial institutions such as Banks and Insurers.

Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, using digital services.

About the role

As a UI Technical Lead at SS&C, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and delivery of advanced user interfaces for our financial software products. This role is ideal for an experienced front-end developer with extensive knowledge of Angular who is also skilled in leading and mentoring a cross-functional team of developers and testers in an Agile/Scrum environment.

You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend teams to create high-quality, scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our financial services clients. Your leadership will be essential to ensuring the successful delivery of projects, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement within your team

Your responsibilities

• Technical Leadership:
  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of the user interface using Angular.
  • Define and enforce best practices for UI development, coding standards, and architecture.
  • Drive technical discussions to deliver performant, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with backend development teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead a scrum team of developers and testers, ensuring alignment with Agile practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers, providing guidance on technical challenges and career development.
  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks, manage sprint planning, and lead daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to encourage innovation and problem-solving within the team.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Product Management and UX teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Partner with QA engineers to establish automated testing practices and ensure software quality.
  • Liaise with other teams across SS&C to ensure alignment with company-wide technology strategies.
• Innovation and Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve the user experience through new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in front-end technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Continuously monitor application performance and make data-driven improvements.

Your Experience

• Proven experience as a UI Technical Lead or Senior Front-End Developer with a focus on Angular.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related front-end technologies.
• Familiarity with RESTful API integration and working knowledge of RxJS and NgRx.
• Solid experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies, including leading scrum teams.
• Experience in delivering high-performance, scalable web applications in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to drive and implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on user experience and usability.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of effectively leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with financial software products.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with modern design systems and UX principles.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks like Jasmine or Karma.
