Job Description

This Software Engineer II position is with the Microsoft Teams Calling and Meetings team. You'll contribute to the design, build, test, and deployment of critical features for hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Responsibilities include working closely with PMs and designers on Teams Meeting Join Experiences, collaborating with infra and partner teams on architecture and API design, implementing features for Teams web and desktop clients, monitoring product quality and reliability, providing live site support, and mentoring junior teammates. The ideal candidate is a passionate web developer with extensive front-end experience (UI libraries/frameworks, Typescript, JavaScript) and experience with the software development lifecycle. The role requires experience in commercial product development and a strong focus on user experience.

Must have:

Bachelor's Degree in CS or related field
Experience with commercial product development
Extensive front-end experience (UI libraries, Typescript, JavaScript)
Software development lifecycle experience
Experience with C, C++, C#, Java, or Python

Good to have:

Experience with React, GraphQL, Vue/SolidJS
Back-end development experience (.NET, C++, Rust)
Effective communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Experience with commercial product development, reliability and maintenance of the proposed solutions, strong focus on user experience.
Extensive experience in software development using the front-end stack (UI libraries/frameworks, Typescript, JavaScript).
Experience with the software development lifecycle: ability to make refactoring that optimizes both functional aspects, as well as maintenance costs

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience with React, GraphQL, Vue/Solid JS or similar libraries
Experience and understanding of the principles of back-end development using strongly-typed languages/stack – e.g. .NET, C++, Rust, etc..
Effective communication skills, ability to drive clarity and coordinate work between people and different teams.
Ability to efficiently deal with uncertainty and unknown areas, fast learn and develop.

Responsibilities

Work closely with PM and designer to Teams Meeting Join Experiences.
Work closely with infra team and partner team for E2E architecture and API design.
Implement related features for Teams web and desktop clients.
Product/Feature quality and reliability monitor and live site support.
Mentor junior teammates.
