Job Description
Lab49 seeks a Senior Technical Business Analyst to contribute to complex, transformative projects for financial services clients. Working in an Agile environment, this role involves analyzing and understanding client applications, creating and refining requirements and use cases, collaborating with stakeholders on application design and UI, writing user stories, managing backlogs, and partnering with various teams (engineers, product owners, etc.) to deliver high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate has investment banking/capital markets experience, strong business analysis skills, and consulting experience with customized application solutions. Responsibilities include application requirement definition and documentation, working with application design and UI, feature prioritization, and backlog management. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, presentation skills, and the ability to overcome organizational constraints.

About the Position
Lab49 is currently offering an opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to contribute to complex and transformative projects for our esteemed financial services clients. Working within an Agile environment, the Technical Business Analyst will play a key role in the successful execution of engagements with our top-tier clients.
The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a solid understanding of the financial services industry, with a focus on investment banking and capital markets. What You'll Be Doing
- Analyzing and understanding the current state of end-client applications and their functionalities.
- Creating and refining application requirements and use cases to enhance client-facing tools.
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to design and optimize application features and user interfaces.
- Writing detailed user stories and managing the backlog to support application development and enhancement.
- Partnering with business and technical teams, including engineers, product owners, scrum masters, architects, and program managers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
What You'll Need
Industry Expertise:
- Experience in consulting, particularly with customized application solutions for investment banking or global markets.
Business Analyst Skills:
- Experience in defining and documenting application requirements and user stories.
- Proven track record of working with application design, user interface considerations, and feature prioritization.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning.
Consulting Skills:
- Strong ability to engage with stakeholders to elicit and refine application requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on application functionality and user experience.
- Proficiency in creating presentations and proposals to communicate application enhancements and project status.
- Experience in overcoming organizational constraints and addressing blockers in application development.
Professional Traits:

- A data-centric approach with the ability to set, monitor, and analyze key metrics.
- Rapid learning and adaptability in grasping new concepts and domains.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.

- Extensive experience in intricate technical projects with strong problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, including crafting and presenting material to high-level audiences.
- Experience with software development processes, application lifecycle management, and a solid understanding of technical architectures.
