Job Description

Lab49 seeks a Senior Quality Engineering Manager with 10+ years' experience in QE/QA, including 4+ years in Test Automation, especially within financial services. The role requires expertise in transforming legacy QA to QE practices, building test data management platforms, and leading QA/Engineering teams.

Lab49 is looking for a Senior Quality Engineering Manager who will partner with our clients to shift the traditional testing paradigm towards embedding quality engineering.

The Senior Quality Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with clients and other Lab49 functions to discover and lead opportunities to introduce quality engineering practices that benefit the client and allow Lab49 to expand the business further.

The role will require a potent combination of experience in successfully introducing and delivering quality engineering, Capital Markets / Crypto domain expertise, and stakeholder management skills to manage engagements that create substantial value for our clients while also being commercially successful.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be an experienced quality engineering solution architect and experience manager with solid delivery / execution experience, able to demonstrate a track record of delivering QE initiatives to IT and business stakeholders in a consultative environment in large transformation programmes. This person will be a passionate technologist with a demonstrated ability to bring together all components required for successful delivery.
The candidate will be well-versed in the existing and emerging quality engineering techniques and technologies, QE trends and have experience in transforming legacy QA processes and technologies to QE practices directed to drastic time-to-production and quality improvement as well as ROI maximisation.
Over 10 years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering / Assurance with at least 4+ years of experience in Test Automation, preferably within the financial services industry.
Experience from the QE perspective in transforming legacy enterprise delivery processes to Agile delivery at scale.
Practical knowledge of building test data management platforms for complex input/reference-data-heavy enterprise platforms.
Demonstrated ability to discover the client platform landscape and processes and propose a target state, including methodology, tool stack, team skills and transformation roadmap.
Fluency in qualitative, quantitative, and financial quality metrics.
Proficient in executing test automation within an Agile development environment.
Strong knowledge of testing enterprise solutions in high-availability technology environments in both corporate and customer-facing service platforms.
Experience coordinating and managing functional and non-functional test activities, including phases such as system testing, systems integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), parallel run or parallel comparison testing, business/operational acceptance testing, and volume/performance scenario testing.
Proficiency in reviewing test status and test evidence, ensuring testing deliverables are of high quality and meeting standards, and validating SLAs were met.
Experience working with data and analytics.
Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with development teams, stakeholders, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the client’s engineering and product teams to define the QE needs and requirements.
Design and build advanced testing capabilities for applications across platforms while understanding the products from both a technical and business perspective.
Communicate with leadership, product owners, other technologists, and users to create working testing software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities.
Leading QA and Engineering teams in implementing QA/QE strategies.
Work with extensive list of senior stakeholders in delivering on the quality agenda to expectations.
Assist development teams in improving testing efficiency and identifying non-compliance with requirements, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
Work with development engineers to track down defects.
Advocate test-driven development and deliver high-quality testing capabilities.
