Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an experienced, talented and creative Senior Previz Artist to join our team to work on Project Polaris — the first game in a new Witcher series saga — to help us bring our ambitious vision of this new, open world RPG to life while pushing the bar for narrative-driven experiences ever higher! In this position you will be responsible for creating complete movie sequences and videos that help support the director’s vision through the appropriate use of time efficient 3D graphics, motion capture, key frame animation, mixed media and or illustration.

Together, with our storytellers and game designers, you will create game experiences that are compelling and emotional or spectacular and bursting with action. We have them all!

Daily responsibilities

  • Creating complete movie sequences with excellent pacing, acting, cinematography, editing, and timing.
  • Communicating with Designers and Leads across company departments to improve readability of the visual storytelling that understand both narrative and gameplay requirements.
  • Following, maintaining and creating new internal pipelines and tech. 

Qualifications

  • Exceptional understanding of film language and how to use it to create coherent and memorable scenes and sequences that convey desired emotions.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Previz Artist working in the game or film industries.
  • Proficiency in camera animation and working experience with motion capture animation.
  • Excellent understanding of acting including posing and timing.
  • Strong knowledge of all visual language basics like, light value, editing,staging and frame composition.
  • The ability to understand game design and to convey it’s visualization.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to company proprietary software.
  • Being a self-motivated team player.
  • Technical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the following tools: MotionBuilder, Maya, Blender Unreal engine.
  • Experience directing actors and/or acting.
  • Experience with keyframe animation.
  • Experience with working with a screenplay.
  • Genuine interest in the Witcher franchise.

Working mode

  • Office-First: working primarily from the Warsaw office for a minimum 10 days per month.
