The Senior Operations Manager will lead all day-to-day studio operations, fostering relationships with various teams (developers, artists, IT, parent company, and external teams). This role reports directly to the Executive Director of Studio Affairs and focuses on creating studio efficiencies and improving processes. Responsibilities include recruiting and onboarding, handling benefits inquiries, distributing communications, managing legal documents, maintaining facilities (remote-first but requires occasional on-site presence), expense reporting, leading on-site meetings and events, collaborating with internal/external teams, implementing new processes, creating reports (Excel/Viseo), and managing project trackers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, possesses strong judgment and prioritization skills, and demonstrates experience with process improvement and project management software (like Monday.com).

About the Position

Who We Are

Ghost Story Games is a self-publishing game development studio owned by Take-Two Interactive, located in the greater-Boston area. Our studio designed and released award-winning games, such as System Shock 2, BioShock and BioShock Infinite. The Challenge

Your positive energy as a Senior Operations Manager will support and elevate our team. You will lead all day-to-day studio operations as well as relationships working with all teams including game developers, artists and IT as well as our parent company and external teams.  This role is a front-line operations manager reporting directly to the Executive Director of Studio Affairs and will be instrumental in creating studio efficiencies and better processes. 

 

What You’ll Take On

We are a scrappy team, and you will be encouraged to wear many hats and jump in where needed.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with studio leadership on all aspects of studio operations 
  • Lead all recruiting and onboarding efforts 
  • Support staff with answering benefits questions 
  • Distribute staff-wide communications on behalf of the studio 
  • Ensure all legal documents are accurately processed and archived, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, business agreements, and music licensing agreements 
  • Although we are remote first, ensure facilities are maintained, schedule repairs when necessary, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements 
  • Expense reports for office purchases and other studio expenditures 
  • Lead on-site meetings and events including research, booking and payment for catering, travel, and venues
  • Collaborates with internal teams, external vendors, and corporate service teams to optimize studio operations and processes 
  • Consistently move the company and projects forward by identifying where new processes and procedures can be implemented 
  • Create reports using excel or viseo to support decisions around optimizing studio operations 
  • Maintain project trackers to report status updates regularly to the Executive Director of Studio Affairs and Leadership team as needed
  • Additional projects and tasks as assigned

  • Good judgement in task prioritization
  • Strong follow through and follow-up
  • Experience with process improvement pipelines
  • Experience using project management software such as Monday.com
  • 7+ years experience in a similar role (tasks and scope)
  • Strong written communication
  • Solution oriented mindset
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a small and nimble team
