Job Description

As a Senior C/C++ engineer, you'll design and implement embedded software for high-precision metrology components within a large-scale project (40 million lines of code). Responsibilities include working with various engineering teams to define software requirements, implementing designs in Python and C++, writing unit and auto tests in Python, collecting testing data, creating test reports, and ensuring software releases. The development environment uses Red Hat Linux, while the execution environment is Wind River Linux. Agile and SAFE methodologies are employed.

Must have:

6+ years C/C++ development experience
Linux command line proficiency
Git, ClearCase, SVN experience
Application coding (70% C)
Test report writing

Good to have:

Python skills
Embedded C understanding
Shell scripting

Project description

Founded in 1984, our client is one of the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips.

The client has its R&D and manufacturing operations in The Netherlands. Luxoft is currently searching to augment the Development & Engineering Department with a talented software engineer to design and implement embedded software for systems among the highest precision ever produced in the world.
The collaboration with our client has reached the 10 years threshold and we have more than 300 talented colleagues working alongside the client side.

Responsibilities

As a software engineer at the client site, you will be working on Linux server applications for metrology components and on complex algorithms application software.

You will be working with electrical engineers, mechatronic engineers and system engineers to define the software requirements.

After your SW design is approved you are responsible for implementing the design in Python & C for new modules. Auto and unit testers are written in Python.

During the testing phase, you will collect the necessary data so you can write a test report. This test report is then reviewed and when it is approved your software will be released.

The development environment is Red Hat Linux, execution environment is Wind River Linux. The software release driving a client machine is 40 million lines of code.

Client SW teams work in various modes such as Agile and SAFE.

Skills

Must have

We are looking for colleagues with at least 6 years of development experience. *C/C++: application coding (C language 70%) *Linux: familiar with command line tools, makefile, git, etc *Version control using command line is also required

Git, Clear Case and SVN, in this order of priority.

Bachelor or Master with an education in Computer Science, Informatics or equivalent

Nice to have

Willing to learn/improve Python skills

Embedded C : understanding and maintaining legacy code. Adding new features while keeping compliance with established architecture
