Job Description

Senior Analyst, Corporate FP&A role requires 3+ years of Finance experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in spreadsheet tools. Prior experience in private equity, management consulting, or investment banking is preferred.

Senior Analyst, Corporate FP&A

Activities and Expectations:

Perform mission critical financial reporting and business partnering activities (planning, forecasting, budgeting, commercial advise, etc.) for a large company ($3.5B P&L) across its Audience Measurement, Analytics and Content businesses
Build advanced analytics for respective area (revenue / expense / capex and cash) - e.g., customer churn metrics, adherence to pricing and discounting guidelines.
Partner with business teams on delivering analytics, data and insights to drive key business decisions and support negotiations.
Ensure high quality operating plans and forecasts minimizing variances of actuals from plan.
Closely track variances from operating plans and forecasts; proactively identify possible remediation measures.
Seek continuous improvement of the FP&A function through identification of opportunities across people, processes and technology.
Support the FP&A org through end to end enterprise transformation – drive standardization and automation of reporting at the Corporate and BU level
Support financial close and reporting processes in partnership with business, commercial and accounting team.
Support broader company strategic initiatives, including performing due diligence for potential acquisitions and non-core asset divestitures
Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition / expense reporting / capex and cash reporting by working closely with commercial and accounting teams to ensure data is accurately captured and reported in line with set guidelines.

Competencies / Skills:

Prior experience in private equity, management consulting, or investment banking required.
Prior Finance (3+ years minimum) experience across revenue, expense, cash and/or capex preferred but not required.
Excellent slide / chart building skills (PowerPoint and/or slides)
Sound fundamentals on financial knowledge, analytical ability and some understanding of the media ecosystem, preferred but not required.
Strong modeling and analytical skills with the ability to tease apart information from data to help inform decision making.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, CA, or MBA is a plus.
Ability to develop constructive relationships with colleagues across the organization.
Comfort with spreadsheet tools (excel, Google Sheets) is required; experience with business insights tools (e.g. SAP Analytics Cloud) is a plus.
Strong work ethic, self-motivated work style, attention to detail, effective communicator

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $100,000-$300,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs
