Atopia seeks a Senior 3D Artist/Creative Director to conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality 3D environments for their VR and Web platform. Responsibilities include modeling, texturing, optimizing models for performance, integrating environments into Unity, leading product design, and generating design summaries. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Zbrush, Maya, Substance Designer, and Unity, with strong skills in hard surface and environment modeling, texturing, and lighting. The role offers the potential to grow into a Creative Director position and contribute to a visionary project making cultural experiences accessible globally.

Atopia is a VR and Web platform which enables users to remotely explore global museums, galleries, heritage sites, and concerts from home, while pioneering new, dynamic ways to consume Arts & Culture. Tasks

If you are a visionary with the capability to translate abstract concepts into reality, and aspire to progress into a Creative Director role while creating exemplary 3D environments, we invite you to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality 3D environments based on abstract ideas.
  • Model and texture hard surface and environmental assets with exceptional detail and realism.
  • Optimize models for performance without compromising visual quality.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to all aspects of the environment while ensuring productivity.
  • Seamlessly integrate environments into Unity, ensuring both functionality and visual excellence.
  • Lead our product design and conceptualize feature ideas that create impactful experiences for our users in a scalable manner.
  • Generate sketches and product design summaries, and effectively communicate them to the team.

Requirements

  • Self-Driven: You enjoy working independently and proactively, driving projects from concept to completion.
  • Creative Mind: You excel at generating innovative ideas and thrive when faced with open challenges and creative, exploratory tasks.
  • Hard Surface Modeling: Expertise in creating detailed, realistic hard surface models.
  • Environment Modeling: Strong skills in creating immersive and visually compelling environments.
  • Level Design: Experience in designing levels that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Texturing: Proficient in creating and applying textures that enhance the visual quality of models.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Zbrush, Maya, Substance Designer, and (most important) Unity.
  • Lighting: Strong understanding of lighting principles to create mood and enhance visual storytelling.
