Job Description

As a Scaled Abuse Analyst, you'll analyze large-scale data and systems to reduce network controversies on YouTube. Responsibilities include applying advanced statistical methods to understand abuse impact, contributing to new workflow development, communicating technical results, fostering quality through feedback metrics, managing technological solutions for quality assurance, performing fraud investigations, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders, and developing training materials. The role involves working with potentially graphic or offensive content and may require weekend on-call work.

Must have:

3+ years data analysis experience using SQL
3+ years project management experience
Advanced statistical methods application
Excellent communication skills
Fraud and spam investigation expertise

Good to have:

Master's degree
Experience with SQL, R, Python, or C++
Machine learning systems experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in data analysis using SQL to identify trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
3 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree.
5 years of experience with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
5 years of experience with machine learning systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Scaled Abuse Analyst, you will analyze large-scale data and scaled systems of review. You will be a contributor to the strategy for reducing network controversies on YouTube. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the strategy for reducing network badness on YouTube. You will balance the short-term requirements we face.

This role may require on-call work at weekends on a rotational basis. This role may also be exposed to graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content during team escalations in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Apply advanced statistical methods to large complex data sets to understand impact of abuse to the YouTube ecosystem. Contribute strategy and development of new workflows against additional known vectors of abuse.
Learn complex and technical concepts, systems, and deliver meaningful results using them. Communicate highly technical results and methods clearly.
Maintain, foster, and promote quality by providing regular feedback metrics to the Global team. Manage technological solutions for streamlining quality assurance and produce scalable training solutions to emergent workflows.
Perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities, and drive anti-abuse experiments to prevent abuse. Work with engineers and interact cross-functionally with stakeholders to improve workflows via process improvements, automation, and anti-abuse system creation.
Develop high quality training materials, create consensus, and maintain communication for YouTube Scaled Abuse with business stakeholders.
