Job Description

As a Prototyping Engineer at Booming Games, you'll continuously develop prototyping tools, create algorithms for new functionalities in mathematical models, and transform these models into prototype games. Responsibilities include developing algorithms for math models and new features, validating and simulating mathematical models, participating in low-level math profile requirements production and weekly game concept meetings. You'll also support existing models and features, ensure application performance, and collaborate with mathematicians. Proficiency in Java and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent are required. The role involves ensuring the mathematical model is accurately represented in the game prototype.

Must have:

Proficient in Java
2+ years software development experience
Develop algorithms for math models
Validate mathematical models
Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Good to have:

Javascript knowledge
Passion for game creation
Strong creative and problem-solving skills

About the role

As a new member in our Math team, you will be involved in continuous developing of prototyping tools. You will be responsible for developing algorithms for new functionalities used in the math models. You will help transforming the mathematical model into a prototype game and assist in ensuring that it follows the model exactly.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Team Lead Prototypes
Develop algorithms for exciting maths models and new features
Validate and simulate the mathematical models
Participate in low-level maths profile requirements production
Participate in weekly game concept meetings (creative brainstorming)
Support existing maths models and features
Support the Mathematicians
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications

Requirements

Proficient in Java
> 2 years of experience in software developing
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent
Basic knowledge of statistics, probabilities, and combinatorics
Fluent in English, written and spoken

Nice to have

Javascript knowledge
Passion for creating exciting games
Strong creative, problem solving, communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
Strong attention to detail

Good to know

This full-time position can be a permanent employment in Malta, or on a freelance basis for contractors
